The Spanish G-Wagen Club

After months of trying, we have managed to found the Spanish G-Wagen Club Club Mercedes G España, of which I am honoured to be the Vice-President (before you ask, I am very old fashioned, and felt that I had to give way to an older lad to become President).

Having a club legalised in Spain is a bit of a nightmare and that's why it has taken so long... people had to overcome their natural fear and agree to meet and once that that's been done we will be setting up the Club's website to keep the rest of the world abreast of what's going on in Spain.

And there will be loads of things going on with a get together organised almost every weekend if anyone has to judge by the amount of activities organised even before the club existed. Fortunately for us and although greenlaning is illegal in the Madrid Region, we are surrounded by two vast and scarcely populated regions, Castilla y León and Castilla - La Mancha which offer countless opportunities of a range of off-roading, from the least demanding greenlaning to the really expert-type just for G-Wagens and Unimogs stuff.

Unfortunately, in summer -which around here may span from basically mid-April to October - rain is scarce and therefore terrain is easier than some guys would like. Notwithstanding this, if somebody plans a holiday in Southern Spain or Portugal he should get in contact because if might happen that we have something organised for when he/she is likely to cross through Madrid en route to his/her holiday destination.
