Hi all, Have deliberating about the pro's & con's of buying a 18 year old G for some time but today I have taken the plunge a bought me one, I found her on auto trader been to see her and done the deal:

81,000 miles complete with accountable service history

I was amazed on just how well she looked and drove, however I would be interested to know whether anybody out there in the G club has any previous knowledge about her GOOD or BAD! and/or any recommendations to a newbie about things to check out or to do, I pick her up next week!

Bizarrely the front passenger seat is a fully adjustable RECARO but the driver seat is standard?

Also she has aircon which was stated as not working any ideas on how to get it to work?

Finally as I live in Coventry can anybody recommend a decent garage who could deal with this beast for servicing and if something should go wrong!

Your advice as always would be gratefully appreciated!

For anything you need to know or any repairs / modifications to a 'G' talk to Bill Moss via this forum. Bill has a facility :oops: - near enough to Cov - and has been an absolute diamond as far as I'm concerned, carrying out numerous jobs on my truck over the last year. Only problem is that my black 280GE gets so used to Bill's care and attention, it doesn't want to leave! (Bill knows what I mean!). Seriously though, I can't recommend him highly enough. He says it's just a hobby, not a business so you've got to stay on his good side but that's not too hard. Catering isn't much cop though - haven't been offered a cup of coffee yet - but there's a burger van just down the road! :lol:

You city people don't know how to either treat a woman... or a friend, for that matter! Bring the bleedin' Thermo with coffee yourself!

Many thanks no doubt I will be in contact with Bill as and when required, as for the coffee luckily for me caffeine gives me the shits so I only tend to drink it if I want the day of work!

Can any body assist with the other items I have mentioned?

Ola Mortinson - how cheap are you! You think the way to treat a woman is to take your own thermo??? Do you at least take an extra cup or does she have to bring her own? :lol:
