ptepaul, Canadian Marine severly injured in action.
Those who post and read the USA forum may know of ptepaul, He is a Canadian Marine and driver of one of the Gs on patrol in Kandahar Afganistan, He has sent reports and pictures almost daily in early January a patrol was hit by a VBIED (suicide car bomber) and it was reported that a politician and three Canadians had been seriously injured and a number of civilians killed in the blast, the politician died of his injuries but no news was given of the marines, PTE PAULS postings stopped and we all feared the worse.
Well he and his crew were in the blast and have been seriosly injured, PTEPAUL has lost a leg and has serious wounds to the other and other life threatening injuries his mates have severe head injuries, he is communicating again with the forum through a buddy and attributes the fact that he is alive at all to being in a G, a direct mailing adress will be available by applying direct to a source soon to be published, for all who want to send thoughts and wishes, there is a long hard road ahead for all three and their families. Our wishes will help ease the pain.
But for the grace of god there go I.
fantastic to hear that paul is still alive. very upsetting that he has had such severe injuries. my thoughts are with him and his family, from what i observed he is an honest man who has had a sad twist of fate in his life.

In this time of government / media spin with talk about acceptable losses, collateral damage, smart weapons etc. this is a poignant reminder of how grim and personal combat really is.
My thoughts are with him and his family also. Plus of course any of our forces put in similar situations.

 i hope he recovers quickly, and returns safely to his family
and gtf out of that country (let bush finish what he started)
he was a very brave man ,crawling to his wounded mates to give them first aid trailing his leg with the turnkey on it
Franklin's wife, Audra, said her husband told her by telephone that he saved his own life by applying a tourniquet to his severed leg. Military sources said he crawled to his wounded comrades and gave them first aid, which may have saved their lives.
shit!!!!!!!!. I am about to do an article about him in March's g wizz. He sent me a long e mail about his exploits. However I lost it when my pc went down, so tried to contact him, no wonder I had no reply. Thats bad news.
