Hi Mercfan,

By inviting comment, I hope you don't easily take offence!!.

IMO I think they look like naff all!. Then, looks aren't what those wheels are about.

Give me a set of 18" Ashroth any day!

What are the wheels off? Or are the widened standard rims.
I think they look good, but the silver nuts spoil it a bit. Very practical

No, Martin, don't worry - it takes a lot to offend me! 8) Just gone away from alloys because I've seen too many crack or break during off-road use. They're actually a pet hate, because even on the road, in a "nasty" situation they can make the difference between keeping the vehicle on the road or not.

Roly, they are standard widened ones - got them like that...
The bolts - well, I agree but they are new so probably won't stay like that for long

The 16 inch wheels are at a preminum here in the USA. A used set of Mbenz aloys will bring from $900 to $1500 US. New....$3500, but Mbenz will not sell them to US Gwagen owners. Too many lawyers waiting in the wings to try to sue Mbenz. I have both sets, the original 18's and the 16's I bought used. Believe you me the 16's ride better. but the 18's look better. I am having the 16's repainted now then they get a new set of BFG AT's. Excuse my drool. I can't wait. :D

The rims came from me, PPerf they are the ones you saw in my shop, and the bolts are from a sprinter van

Hi there did you know you can also fit the silver plastic hub caps from the merc van range. They cost peanuts and improve the looks no end aswell as protecting hubs from corrosion, also chrome plastic covers for studs/nuts are available from peugeot dealers for not much moolagh...

While on the subject of wheels...I'm looking for a gray/silver modular steel wheel in 16x8" size, to fit a 1999 G300 TD. Any idea's folks ?
I too would prefer to stay with steel wheels, as alloys don't like tyre levers !

I had those 16 x 7.5"" rims made, if you have the rims it is easy to do.

At the time I desperately needed wheel bolts and Mercedes main dealer didn't have the W460 ones in stock, so I took a gamble and ordered sprinter ones which work just fine and are cheaper as well :D
By the way, they are a 601 number so the same as the old box shape vans
