I am talking about this one:
The Brooklands Road Test Series on the "Mercedes G-Wagen 1981-1994"
published by Brooklands Books Ltd., P.O. Box 146, Cobham, Surrey, KT11 1LG,
United Kingdom.

Got it 8 years ago, it's an anti-G book, have u read it?
Don't buy it, they're gonna try to convince you of getting a Range Rover classic

Thats because it was made up of press cuttings and Motor mag articles that have never tried to understand the G for what it is just tried to compare one with another. Apart from anything they probably got back handers from BL rover of the time> This may sound like a flipant remark but have heard similar from "horses mouth"

Yes Greeney,
Were they afraid, it would affect the british 4x4 market, with its colossal price back at the time? i wonder why they were afraid :)

Yeah, the British press was the only one in Europe where the Range Rover was a better vehicle than the G-Wagen.

Today my G is 14 years old. No Land Rover product has ever lasted for so long without the new parts exceeeding the original ones!

Cheers

The French press did a great job i think, and is still doing it. The french also were the first to invest on the G to participate in the Dakar. :)
