Re: paint codes.

Hi Merv,

Look on your VIN plate. (Attached to blower box on bulkhead)

3rd or 4th row down.

Normally 4 digits.

Hope this helps.

Thats a bummer Merv, If you load up the EPC I gave you and go to one of the menu's at the top, and look for something called shop materials. Go into cars and then one of the paints sections, it list all Merc Paints with codes and colour names! I'm reciting this without being in front of it, so may not be exactly correct on the procedure but they are there! Regards.

Adrian.

Hi Merv hv found that four digit code on the plate next to vin plate on the air intake box in the engine bay cross refers to the RAL nimbers used by all the parts shops selling "mix while you wait" paint rgds Peter

Go into your EPC and click on the Go to Menu then Applications or press F2, then just click on car and then touch-up pencils or spray cans, it lists all metallic and non-metallic paints codes and colour names, saying that I cant find 3002!

Re: paint codes.

i think, but am not sure, that a lot of earlier gs were painted in commercial colours and i think you will find that 3xxx is a ral code that corresponds to red....best thing is to try your local paint factors paint swatches against it.
