Hi All, I was sent an email this afternoon to say that my G400 was completed today in Graz and will be on its way to Rotterdam by the weekend for despatch which means it will be ready next week

Don't know if I can wait until Jan 1st like I originally planned! :?

Will be good to come to the meetings to meet you all :D

p.s. does anybody want a Discovery?

BUT sellin the disco on here
if you were giving it away somebody on the outbacks might take it as a small garden shed

ps probably wont even make a good shed with water leaks

I had noticed. Was trying to decide whether or not to impose a life ban on him from the forums...

Re: Getting Excited

Do you have all the part numbers for the uk spec lights and speed, or is it coming with uk spec. I have them if you need them. I got them for my 2001 G500. Yours is newer but I don't think the speedo and lights will have changed.

You can get by with the kph speedo by setting the digital display to work in mph. Looks better with the right markings on the protractor though. Costs 280 pounds for the correct speedo in Germany.

Re: Getting Excited

Guys, have been chating with Mark about G's from Germany. Been very useful about sourcing and have decided on G500 or G400 CDi but cannot afford new. Have been looking at post 01 models.

Would appreciate some feedback from Dan on part numbers etc for his 500 for lights etc, but also from piggysims on feedback re what year to focus on for 400 as have read lots of probs in certain years.

Bit of a toss up between the two as do some continent driving and Diesel is preferable but power of 500 in UK is preferabe too. - decisions decisions...

much appreciated.

Re: Getting Excited

Hi, I'm not the best person to speak about this yet, I know they had trouble with early 2000 face lift g's but hopefully they've been sorted by now.
The early 400's had injector and fuel pump problems.
I think there were too many changes with fitting new dashes and electrics and a new 400 cdi engine all in one face lift and rushed too quickly into production, some things were bound to be troublesome

Re: Getting Excited

Thanks.

Can I ask if I am way off new price for UK spec car if I am paying 45k euro's for 2 year old model? assume 400 cdi. Is there much diff in spec?

Best of luck with delivery - very envious!

Re: Getting Excited

Current G prices are here

No doubt a bit a haggling will get a few % off.

Re: Getting Excited

You should easily get 6% off a new one. 45k sounds about right in top condition with low miles and as long as that is with tax!
If its a 2003 it should have the improved fuel pump and injectors.
The 400 has top spec the same as the 500.
