Just joined the site, and looking for some advice on buying my first G. Looking for a late 300D or a 300 Petrol from 1992 onwards.

Found a really nice 1988 G 300GD 3Dr Auto SW with 105000 miles in great condition locally, but what is something like that worth.

Also looking at a 300GES up in Nottingham at the weekend if it still available. Has 93600 miles on it and looks really nice, in Almandine Metallic

Does anyone know the car, and what it is worth. Looks sound, and I would like to make him a sensible offer. I think he might be a forum member on here??

Any advice appreciated??

Lastly, should www.gwagen.co.uk be avoided, went down there a couple of years ago, they seemed very expensive????

Many thanks,

Alex

the red 463 in nottingham is owned by desert dave, interesting chap, just bought 5 ltr v8 and auto box from him, its a nice example, and would have thought no expense spared on that one, knowing him.

Hi, Aharston,

The 1988 SWB Diesel Auto. If it is original auto, and in good nick - it is a very very rare child indeed.

Whats it worth? Sold one of mine the other day --- could have sold it all day long - and it was a converted petrol\diesel. Easily £4000, anything less, snap it up. - not a bad place to start, you'll always be able to sell on.

If you have the readies, then sure - a newish 463 is always going to be pleasant - but there is a train of thought, that to know this Marque, you should at least have some knowledge of the 1st model. (Does that sound like crap?).

Good luck on the search, let us know how you get on.

Cheers
