ancient g.
anyone know what the oldest g is in the uk?
just got a 1982 lwb, cant decide whether to rescue it coz its old or to cut it up coz its rotten!
I remember seeing some left hand drive G's at a garage near Helensburgh, Scotland in 1979, but your guess is as good as mine as to whether any of them still exist or not. The guy had imported them direct from an MB dealer in Europe as this was before they were officially available in UK. I clearly recall that one of them was a van with vertical split rear doors.
Q

since i have a weakness for real ale that sounds good !!!!
as a small aside most people with post 82isk gs moan that the steering wheel obscures the instruments.
if you have the early wheel (two spoke, no horn on wheel) you will notice it is the commercial wheel, with a bigger diameter and you can see the instruments.

ps sorry for being anal.
be careful...my tent might be in your garden for a while !!!!
