280ge auto idling a wee bit low when warm

its a 1987 280ge auto and when its been running a while
it doesent seem to idle right
it used to idle about 7,500 rev but now drops to 2,000 them sometimes dies out

any advice would be helpfull

I have the same with mine not sure if its air leak or voltage regulator.Going to do both anyway and check for any other airleaks.

Mine does the same - also it doesn't seem to rev cleanly until about 1500-2000 revs (almost like it clears itself??

I've changed plugs no difference? Will check timing next.

Anybody??

280ge swb, I have the exact same problem, once it is warm (esp coming off the motorway it stalls out at every roundabout) till it cools down again.

did you find out what was happening to it?

this may sound completely off the mark, but i had a similar problem in my first car. what fuel are you guys using, as in where is it from?

p.s i know i bring up the fuel thing alot but i find the difference is huge!
