Where,s best to get these, oil + air filters, plugs + leads and I also want to change all the relays and fuses and any other bits and pieces that you would change on a decent service.

update on what i,ve been doing :

Have changed front seats now to later ones with same check pattern.
Renewed window mechs on both sides, put in a new rev counter, clear indicators all round sides front and rears, new tyres all round, new front seat belts, new battery, new starter, engine rebuild last year, everything has been greased and tested , new heater matrix, new radiator,
thinks thats it.
All I need to do now is the usual rust patch around rear lights on the passenger side (only bit of rust there is) and change coil and voltage regulator as cars been sitting for over a year now since I started all this. Still starts 1st time though.
I know you all think i,m mad going to this expence but i,ve had the car now for nearly 8 years and love it, to buy another one would have cost this amount anyway and at the end i,ve got the car I want with everything on it I want.

ps I want a gun rack as well.

I know a missle launcher would be best, but I think there might be a few restrictions with a MOT test.

Thinking of changing the steering damper as well for a 463 one,
also the steering column that goes through the engine bay that is covered with a black plastic ribbed tube, where can I get one of those as the end of the plastic has lost its retaining clip strap what ever it is and everynow and then I repack with grease and tighten up with a jubilee clip, works but I thought i,d better change it.

cheers :?:

Quality! :D

If you find one, let me know cos that would be totally gangsta to have one of those for the drive-bys! (Already got the tinted windows!!!)

Surely if you've done all this hard work a simple service should be easy?!

I'm glad I've stumbled across this topic as I'm also looking to give mine a service (first one since I've owned it) so I'll be needing the same. I would add to the list brake pads, discs and shoes.

suggest MB dealer for the oil and fuel filters. I paid £18 inc VAT for both which i felt was quite reasonable

Yeah, aren't the engines the same as other Mercs so things like that aren't too bad to buy? I think I read that somewhere when I was researching G's to buy.

Cheers for the tip though. I need to make a trip to the dealer to get some new mats any way.

Just to reinforce that it's best to go to MB for these items I went to my local motorfactors today to buy the fuel prefilter ( as it's closer than the MB garage ). When he came out from the back with the part he bought a motoquip fuel filter with him as well so i asked how much and they wanted £17 for it

So i guess the moral is always ask MB first cos in this case they were half the price !

Thats all you can get now, the 460 damper is no longer available, you need to modify the mounting bracket as well.
