Hello Mercman15,

Early Gs were equipped with 'round' engine mounts, whilst newer ones came with 'rectangular' ones.
To properly fit an OM60x engine (such as the 602 and 603) you need to have the 'rectangular' engine mounts fitted.
Then, you will need the two engine support brackets, most probably A602 223 08 04 (right) and A602 223 14 04 (left) for the 602 or A603 223 55 04 (left) for the 603.
I have performed this kind of modification in the past, on a 461 model, using the engine from a Ssangyong vehicle (which was essentially a turbocharged Mercedes-Benz OM602 DE LA).
In order to be able to further assist you, it would be useful if you could provide your G-Wagen' s VIN (chassis number) and also the W124 donor vehicles VINs (or at least their engine numbers).

Regards

Michael

Following on I would comment that fitting a car 5 cylinder diesel c/w gearbox is straight foward , little or no fabricating needed , rectangular rubber mounts with the correct alloy mounting arms [not too expensive maybe £130 pair ] may need to alter gbox mtg , lever and linkage from car easily adapted , you will also need to use a diesel ign switch [youcan use your key and barrel] to trigger the vac stop or use a £5 12v  solenoid air switch

Yes well , Heater loom and control box from car to inner wing on G + live feed , spill pipe to tank , left the rear pump in on the one I did , use first section of car front pipe to join to G system , keep throttle linkage from car , small amount of fabricating to couple to G , still consider its an easy and sensible upgrade , will report later on other conversions in Somerset with pics [ SSangyong turbo 5 cyl , also easy , 150 bhp sprinter not so easy , 6 cyl 24v turbo c/w 6 speed quite demanding.
