 Hello All,

If you have a 722.3 automatic 4 speed transmission on your G-Klasse, thought you should know about this.

Mercedes has a factory magnet that you can add.

Part number is A 169 371 00 03.

Cost was about $19.00 USD. I have the 500 GE in the U.S. and this was the price that I paid at a U.S. dealer. 
Seems to me to be cheap insurance.

Oils from 236.10 and 236.14 service sheets are meant for transmissions with electronically controlled converter clutch (Küb) plate clutches and brake bands, ie from 722.6 and up.
These transmissions have special requirements on the coefficients of friction of the oil, therefore, the requirement is for "thin" oils.

Therefore, be sure to look when buying oil for the following approvals:

The 236.8 ( list of approved oils ) is a fully synthetic oil (ATF IIE) - MB designed only with Arctic climate conditions.
