Could anybody advise if I should fit the standard Merc shocks or consider a different brand, predominantly for road driving, for my 300TD SWB?

Thanks.

Hi Mr Sav

price might be the decider as to what shocks you fit  Bilsteins KONI Monroe  and others all supply a matching (or better) shock absorber  try S&M Springs  01 775 712125 Stewart or Karl for a price choice ............

Re: Shock Advice

Thanks fixwin. Other than price, do the different brands offer different types of performance - comfort, sport, etc? Driving around London, I'd probably opt for a comfort option - any suggestions?

Re: Shock Advice

selam sav.

i would personally go for the raids too. they are also adjustable too. set them to the softest setting and  adjust them as time goes by...

if on the other hand you can get bilstiens for a bargain from eurocarparts , i would also consider them too. i had them on my 460 500GES. they were brilliant too !!

Last time I enquired about Blistein from ECP they were a fortuneI think £180 plus each.

Used to be around £80 , inflation!

Re: Shock Advice

almost choked at the price of the Koni Raids! But, I guess, you get what you pay for.

'bloke down the pub' told me to look at Sachs ('they are fitted in BMWs', he said).

Re: Shock Advice

Several people have found the japanese ones [KD?]  from motor factors  at less than £100/pair to be as good as any...I think they perform better  than the Konis which I also have on a G
