hi fcp sorry to trouble you but have you got a contact (enail address)

for myna deisels as i want to send my pump (617a) after fiting a big exhaust and intercooler

the pump needs a boost only looking for 140ish HP so i need to contact them for addvice before

   sending them my pump

p.s are they speedy doing there magic?

 thanks adrian

Hi Adrian,

Sure - contact Heiki at mynadiesel@gmail.com, tell him I sent you ;-)

The only thing I'd say though is that having Myna do any work isn't cheap (my pump ran to around £1700).

Its worth it if you want custom elements, race modification (they change internal cam setup + custom alda for higher boost) but 140HP is only 10 over stock if I remember correctly on a 617A - is it really neccessary?

You'd probably make more than just with adjustment of Alda and addition of Intercooler.

There are people who push the 617 to 250+ but I don't know how long the last like that.

Other alternative is https://www.facebook.com/dieselmeken He does mainly 603 pumps and has his own range of custom elements too. Definitely cheaper than Myna though.

See what they say anyway - I'd be interested to hear.

Cheers,

Ben

Just looking here : http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w123-e-ce-d-cd-td/1616705-coaxing-just-bit-more-power-617-a.html

200HP with just removal of rack limiter - no need to send to Myna for that as any competent Bosch shop should be able to do it (don't ask them to warranty the pump though!!)

Cool, I thought other forum members might have some ideas for Adrian and  his quest for more ponies in the 617A

Re: PM adrian / fcp open for coments

  thanks for the info ben

my problem is my G is alto (big gap in the gears)

the intercooler didnt give me more power just runs better

and the turbo kicks in a little late 2000rpm (so i cant slip the  clutch )when starting on steep hills

looking for more power low down

the guy who fitted the intercooler in E germany (GFG) SAID I NEED TO SEND the pump off to be

    turned up

Re: PM adrian / fcp open for coments

My own view - extra fuel early on needed to spin turbo up

No need to send pump overseas

PM Axel , He has contact detail of a top UK Bosch man who is interested enough to max out the pump without larger elements...Not silly ££....

Timing is critical when refitting...splines are very fine ...hard to keep chain tight as well...can take several attempts to get it spot on

Should be easy 140 with intercooler

Check waste gate if fitted and consider actuator upgrade

Fit VDO boost guage

Re: PM adrian / fcp open for coments

I agree with Tony - adjustment for altitude on pump are very easy (screwdriver I think) and getting more  fuel in earlier should be simple for Mike's Bosch Shop.. Only really need Myna or Dieselmerken  if you need custom work like elements  (and then you definitely need bigger turbo!)

I have little experience of timing setup or what options are for actuator upgrade though  - internal wastegate on this almost certainly I guess?

Re: PM adrian / fcp open for coments

allready done turbo rebiult stanless 62mm exhaust intercooler

the plan take off the pump send it off full service (reconditiond)

inc turn up the fuel as tony said to spin up the turbo early

this should sort out my problem  (hill starts with a 2000kg caravan)

not sure about the VDO (boost gauge) as the only place to put it would be where

the clock is , dont like the idea drilling or glue on the dash

i can have it check when i have a service

                         thanks adrian

Do you have a tacho fitted? what is in the middle hole in between fuel etc and speedo?

Something I've been working on is using the backside of the instrument pod housing (available as a prt for about $20)  mounted upside down underneath the dash above the transmission tunnel etc. Its a good fit and with an appropriate face and a little fabrication you can get 4 or even 5 52mm dials in.#

I'll post pics once I am done.
