Hi,
Decided to take the plunge and bought '84 230 ge yesterday. The good points:
merc alloys
fair body
no rust around windscreen
mot and tax
new engine 20k ago
preferred colour (black)
the not so good points:
back door scaby at the bottom
under back lights and petrol filler scaby and filler
drivers seat gone
few marks/dings around body
No doubt this will be the first of many threads as I endeavor to improve it, (starting with the drivers seat .)

The good thing with the G is you can easily replace each body panel. If you do a search there is another topic floating around here on where to get them.
Also please complete your profile to show what G you own and where (roughly) you are based. It makes it easier for people helping you to give advice if they know the above.

hi mate just bought 2 new rear panels for my 230 ge. Got the petrol cap panel and the other side from mercedes both cost just under £100
