Not a new question I guess but not too many opportunities in Scotland? to locate G-W advice?

I am looking seriously to acquire an Ex Military SWB 240 G  unit but I am a loss as to Insurance Costs, and Road Tax:

Can anyone help please? Kinda got to get a sense of these first as I have decided to opt for a GW and not a landrover!

At 50+ I am just looking for a sound diesel runner for pulling our RIB and a bit of fox shooting.

Hello Macsiccar,

Welcome to our site and club.

Please explain what RIB is and secondly, the military versions are a 24volt system. Will that be of issue to you?

Try this site:

Good Luck

Cheers Pistonhead, Will have a look and RIb is a Rigid Inflatable Boat - speed with tubes around the eouter edge and a 70hp outboard.

Now I need something as well made for the rough roads!

Many thanks

Hello Macsiccar

I'd look at mobile.de and/or autoscout.de for lhd g's

it's relatively easy to buy in germany/europe and import.

maybe the europrice will be kinder shortly too !

good luck

As PistonHead pointed out above, Jacksons have got a few and would probably be the most convenient source of ex European military G-Wagens, but there is also a company in Poland which does refurbs on these models; mainly ex-Danish, I believe. Worth looking at the site, if only to get some idea of what's available:
