Hello from sunny & sticky Brisbane.
I have been plunderung the GWOA site for advice for some time now and two weeks ago bought a SWB 280GE 460 - so thank you all .
I am a commercial photographer and shoot for magazines including car and 4WD publications so I punted the 'G' around one of our nastiest 4WD test routes here including deep beach sand and bush tracks and it easily handled the lot .
We took great pleasure pissing off owners of bogged Toymotors, Discos and Nissans, offering to tow them out gave me a warm feeling as Queensland is big, hairy 4WD country.

A special hello to Rustbucket. As a transplanted Scot who lived in Haddington I know Penicuik well enough - especially at chucking out time.
Cheers all ,
Jimmy McEwan 8)

(no bloody clue of what the above means but..... how do you like it, Rustbucket?)

Gentlemen, can we please stick to plain English in this forum and leave other more exotic languages for the private messaging?

Much appreciated,

Hi Roly,
Yes my 280 is a private import and i will be tracing it soon, The 230 you speak of is in
show condition and very low mileage- too dam' good for belting around in the bush.
I have seen at least 10 G's around Brisbane and there are a lot more in Melbourne.I think about 400 came here.- Jimmy Mac

Hiya Chazz,
Aye , Ah sniffed and sniffed an only caught a few-they braw Haddy weemin is quick on their feet when there's nae ring on the fnger- Ah always did better in Dunbar at the Battleblent. Naw dinnae miss the rain&snaw -I was over in Scotland Jan this year and the only sunny day we had in four weeks was in Haddington
( In Angle-ish now ) My associaton with the great pubs of East Lothian came from working as a barman at the George when I was going to Napier Uni and playing the "let's tear around on our motor bikes and have pints in as many pubs as we can before we fall off" - lethal.
Don't know the Dingwalls, I was born in Glasgow and lived with my Uncle Tam in Artillery Park when I went to Napier. He's daft anall - is it catchin' ?

Sorry 'Bucket,
I forgot to answer your question, I lived in Haddington from 68-71 and then again in 75.
The family emigrated from Glasgow to Oz in 64 as £10 tourists and I came back to Embra to go to Uni and then again with the new ball&chain . I still have the scars on the ankles.
Cheers,Jjimmy Mac
