Dear All,
Recently bought a G 350 CDI Bluetec (3.0 V6 engine) and am loving it.  24 mpg over 2,200 mixed (road) miles (on board computer exactly 5% optimistic).  No need to top up oil and no measurable wear on tyres as yet (Yokohama Geolandar) !  Be delighted to learn of your experiences.  Apologies for being anorak ! Happy New Year!

i was just talking to a guy from istanbul that recently brought one too. he has owned a 300GES for 15 years and know the G pretty well.

his last words were that the G350 brought a smile to his face each time he drove it.

happy new year seems an understatement for you !

Hi Nik

I have a 2008 G320CDI  - left hand drive but made for the UK by MB Austria - V6 diesel engine same as yours although the previous version

It does between 21-26mpg if you believe the display, 21-22 on motorway runs at 80ish, up to 26 if you are floating round the country lanes at 40-50.  I am gentle on the brakes

I also have a 2008 ML320CDI - so the M Class with the same engine.  That does 28-33mpg.  You can get it as low as 26 if you sit at 90mph - 30 average on a run is very achievable - and 33 plus (even up to 36)  if you pootle at 50-60

Both great cars, both currently have winter tyres on waiting for some proper weather!

Cheers Mike

Hi Lorenzo - I think you've got your calculations wrong (unless you're converting to US gallons which are smaller than imperial gallons ...?)

17 litres per 100 km is actually 20.18 mpg using imperial gallons.

To all those that taken the trouble to reply, thanks.
Having seen other threads mentioning diesel consumption too - maybe I should be OK  with the underlying 24mpg - still the case after 4,000 miles of mixed driving.  No oil consumption and no more than 1mm tyre wear.  Also the Brabus DS6 chip perhaps is performing as claimed  (improved acceleration especially from low revs - and 10% improvement in mpg). Happy driving.
Best, Nik
