Front drivers door has stopped unlocking form the inside

Front drivers door has stopped unlocking form the inside, have to wind down the window and unlock from outside to get out of the car.

Is this an easy job to fix or a commond problem. Haven't renmoved the dorr trim yet.

I suspect that the release bar, of the interior lock has probably detached from the lock, in order to investigate, remove the door panel and plastic sheeting to check, infact, by the time you have removed the interior door handle, you might have a clue as to whether the bar is detached or not; if not sure, continue  to remove the panel.
