First Post....300GES 1992 bought yesterday

Good Morning to all

I just picked up the 300 GES that has been advertised on Pistonheads yesterday.  Its the Silver one with AMG wheels and LPG.  I understand that a previous member owned it but I have left the paperwork up north for the car and wont have it till Monday to go through the detail.

Did best part of 200 miles yesterday driving it back from Warrington and then around Leicestershire.  Thouroughly enjoyed the drive and did keep within the speed limits.

Took it to my local merc specialist and he was absolutely ecstatic about it and was "well" (a lesta thing that I have picked up...dont worry I am a NW Northerner) pleased with it.  Suggest that the tracking is looked at as the previous owner may not have done it when he upgraded the wheels.

So its going to be an occasional vehicle for me...got it insured as a classic for the best part of £220.00

Enhancements well in order just to give it a bit of freshness....

Change Grill - ebayer user petrakrautmaus
Change Rear Lights - germany ebay??
Remove Light Grill and maybe change to projector lamps/leds - still to source
Indicator mirrors - CKS performance
Upgrade to Leather
Repaint Wood Interior to maybe gloss black

I have done a little research and not sure if the above sources are best placed but would welcome your thoughts.

Only fault at the moment is the diff locking switches are not engaging to emit the red light so something to look at if I get round to it...
