Can anyone confirm that the rear silencer on a 250GD (1988) is the same as a 290GDT? (any 461) I know there are 2 types on the 290 Turbo Diesel, one has the inlet on the side, I'm talking about the straight through type. The Russin EPC shows the same part No. for both (460 4910501) but I'd like to confirm it if anyone can help? Would save me buying another. The 250GD one I have is new so would like to use it on a 2.9TD engine. (50mm inlet and out). Cheers Scott

Working without relevant chassis nos: is very time consuming but from the checking of all or most 250GD and 290GDTs'; the part no: A460 491 05 01 is common to the models you enquiring about.
This is a straight through muffler; single pipe in, single pipe out. It fits W460 and W461 chassis in models 250GD, 290GD and 290GDT.
So the basic answer is "Yes".
