Hi all, does anyone have a new con rod for a 3.0 litre 460 engine (5 cylinder) which they would be willing to sell or know of a supplier of a pattern made part, although OEM would be preferable ? Any information to assist would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance, Lynxman.

Re: CON ROD FOR A 460 ENGINE

Asking for a single con rod is a difficult request. Con rods are usually sold as a set because each rod is weighted to close tolerances to prevent engine imbalance.

Your alternatives are: a re-manufactured engine less your loss of surcharge for a damaged con rod, purchase of an old unit and break that down for parts you want, approaching engine re-builders to buy a single con rod from their repairs and left overs.

If you choose the latter, do get the other con rods weighted and match the weights, otherwise the cost and expense you are going through will simply be a waste.

If you choose a re-manufactured engine then consider Vege.
