Hi all,

The engine has gone bang in my 300gd, upon inspection big hole in left side of engine.

Anyone tell me where to get replacement engine or which type of Mercedes engine would drop straight in?

Thanks Bill.

Re: blown engine

If you are looking for a like for like engine, I suggest getting in touch with Tony Bruegger. Ordinarily, the OM617 engine is difficult to get hold of. Outside of that your are looking at an alternative power plant. Favorite transplant engines are a turbo charged version from a saloon and can cost around and over £5000 conservatively.

A hole in the side of the engine???? Wow - any chance of some pics? Know what casued it? Bet that was scary.... blush

Looks like a prime oportunity for a 606 replacement? Or a new 550 engine?
