Advice needed 2003 G400cdi
I have been looking at a G400cdi. Its a 2003 with really rough paintwork, a good interior and the Engine and box have been removed for inspection. Basically I want to buy it and put in a G350td engine and gearbox in and get rid of all the really complicated electronic issues. The plus side is that its a shade over £5000 which is very very cheap. What do you all think ? By the way I am a mechanic with plenty of experience of engine conversions.

Sounds like a load of agro...where u sourcing the 350 engine and gearbox...are you talking about the old 90's 350 or the modern variant ?
the old OM603 350 td is an AVOID, AVOID unit with a terrible rep, if you want reliability go for the turbo diesel 617 engine currently advertised,
