Just bought a new throttle damper as fitted to the 617 injection pump. Part A 617 070 01 67.

I had expected it to be gas charged but it is not .. so now on the hunt for the return spring on my throttle; MB identified one at the pivot down under the exhaust manifold but it does not look big enough. Currently I have the same horrible generic spring pegged onto the top of the cam cover :-(

1. The damper is not smooth on the undamped extension action .. should it be?
2. Should the damper have gas charge to extend it?
2. Are there any other springs that return the throttle beyond the one by the exhaust?

Hi again

Got your own thread this time!!!

Again i could do with the chassis number but

The damper is correct and only as i understand it damps when you suddenly hit or lift of the throttle pedal to smooth the reaction of the engine.

From what i can see there is only one throttle spring listed on EPC part number A460 993 00 10

Is that the same as what the dealer quoted you ?

Thanks
