Driving down a dual carriageway today - actually to my MOT - suddenly the road was loud(er).   The nearside rear window had dropped a couple of inches and would not go back up.   We are going to have a look at it tomorrow but from experience does anyone have any tips?

Strip it down to see what has happened, I'd guess its a regulator issue but swap over the switches for the windows as a first act to eliminate that as a fault

Thanks for your reply.   We have stripped it down and ordered

"window lifter without engine"

A4637300946

Actually it's only a couple of bits of that which need replacing but there's some broken plastic which we can't fabricate to match so will swap the part.   No idea how it happened though!

Good wishes, Mike

If it were practical [it isn't on the 463], I'd always revert to manual wind windows, well done anyway

Yep wind up/down windows much better than electric!! - I have a 20+ year old Hilux which doesn't beep at me for anything and has old fashioned wind-ups

We did consider a small adaptation so that it was no longer possible to open the window but in the end just repaired it

Cheers, Mike
