Hi all having trouble with my handbrake.

I replaced the brake shoes, put everything back together and when trying the hand brake a small piece off the wee thrust bar broke off so I did a cheeky small weld and put it all back together but had to be very gingerly when pulling on the handbrake so ordered two new thrust bars through Mercedes coming from Germany. Long story short got impatient put her in for an Mot and guess what failed on the handbrake!! When the tester was testing the handbrake the same thing happened to the other thrust bar so she failed :((

Finally getting to my point the thrust bar that goes a cross between the brake shoes does anyone have a pic off how it's fitted because I must of done somthing wrong for both sides to have a wee bit snap off. When I stripped it down I took a pic so i could remember how the retaining springs fit but from my pic can't see what way the thrust bar sits - is it the wee part you slide on and spring sit to the left or right?

Don't want to do the same with the new one's when they arrive. Thanks

Ps I have been restoring my 230 ge for 11 months just got her on 16/10/2021 as a none runner!! once I get her Moted I will give a right up of what I have done to her and some pic's of what she looked like when she arived.  I know crazy bought unseen and not startting :0

Thanks all!!

Good to hear.  Look forward to the story.  And if you have a pic of your fix, that would be great.
