W460 5 speed manual gearbox rebuild, or replace…
Hi all, so unsure exact issue but 2/3rd gears not selecting, can anyone recommend a decent specialist or as far as gearboxes go could any gearbox company tackle a rebuild?
A few companies have mentioned parts will be hard to get hold off, any recommendations on where to source parts for the rebuild? Thanks in advance
Are you sure it isnt the common issue of the selector rod bushes being worn and the rods binding?

Sounds like a fairly common selector rod problem.
If the gearbox is actually damaged internally, then replacing it might be simpler than a rebuild and getting a replacement shouldn't be too hard. Probably, like engines, the same gearbox can be found in other MB. But others would know more about that.
