A few weeks back, our Chairman, David Watkins reported on some cars based on the G for sale:

It turned out that these had nothing in common with the G. Well the mistery is solved today as I came across the auction at Ebay of such cars:

Can somebody identity the engines? In one of the pics, I think I see the OM616 but I stand to be corrected.

TROJAN WORKHORSE???

I'm fairly sure it's the engine out of the 123/115 series. The ad says it's a 2.4L , so it must be the 240D. I don't know the MB number, but its the same series as the 5 cylinder 617

That's the one I meant. The 240 D engine is the OM616. In this picture it looks very much like the OM616.
