Hello there to everyone , it's Friday morning and sunny, so despite being at work I'm happy. Should get my 280GE back at lunch time after a week in the garage for front hub seals and check on water pressure.
I bought the old thing 3 months ago after seeing what £2K gets from Land Rover. Based the search on price, just wanted one for less the £2K in reasonable nick. So now I'm fixing, or having fixed, the problems as they occur. So far have spend the same again as bought it for..... not sure how long the wife will play ball.
Joining the GWOA and checking forums etc is a good way to get info and help as these "cars" are unusual and so problems etc harder to sort on your own.
Hopefully will meet some other owners at off-road events etc as had to miss the Rockingham Castle due to the aforementioned water problem.
OK, back to the grind now.
Bye all.

Hi Tom

Tom
Good to hear that you bought Merc and not Landy!

The club used to sell a CD with a service manual on which made servicing and looking after the G a little easier, I could recommend that.

Sham you arn't a bit closer or I would offer to help, anyway I feel sure one or two other members a bit closer may do that.

Post you problems on the board we may be able to offer help and if not then some support.
All the best
Murph

Welcome aboard Tom.

That is exactly our reason for making them. To provide a dedicated source of info and discussion for G owners in the UK (or anywhere for that matter!)

Hope you enjoy!
