Switch illumination/tell-tale bulbs
Hi Everyone
I am trying to source some bulbs to replace those in the various centre-console switches that no longer work (rear wiper etc)
The 'things' work fine, as do the switch connections - just not the bulbs in the switches.
MB only sell the whole switch - £50 and upwards each, depending which one.
To just replace the bulbs, several sources suggest using the 286, T5, 2721 as used in the gear selector display but these are different.
The correct bulb is described in a topic here from 2005 (yes, I've been back as far as 2003 before starting a new topic!) but the links no longer work.
It is smaller than the 286 and has bare wire ends, not glassed-in.
Can you help please?
Thank you

I'm never sure if we're supposed to reply with links to other G Wagen website (so I'm prepared to be told off again) but you might find this useful:-

An Auto Electrician - wow you're lucky. I think they'rte a dying breed.
Be interested to hear how the job goes and how it all looks when finished. Maybe it's something I should think about as there are a couple of toggle switch lights not working in my G.
On my early 463, when I first got it 15 years ago, looked like aircraft console at night, unfortunately now only about 3 work, so if you are successful please let us know, tho central console not the easiest thing to remove

I don't think ithere's ever been an issue about posting helpful links to other websites.
There was a bit of controversy created a while ago by some people using this site solely to promote their own website which is a bit different.
Fantastic!
Thank you so much.
Bulbs ordered and Auto Electrician on stand-by...
(Hopefully you won't get told off - I looked pretty hard to find something here first)
Best wishes
