Am I right in saying that I need part number A4634600109 to replace the lower steering shaft (from bottom of column to box) on my 1987 RHD SWB 300GD?

I'm detecting a little play and noise in both UJ's. Its not MOT failure bad by a long shot, but the noise and feel through the steering is annoying me.

Cheers,

Ben

Re: Steering shaft

Think theyr'e £700 or so new

I have good used ones for £100

Or can supply new OEM UJ's for £95 each

Re: Steering shaft

Thanks again Gav.

I did consider new U/J's but didnt think they were available for my original 460 shaft, only for the early 463 shaft?

In any case, I quickly changed my mind while looking at puch.at. The price there is very keen for the whole shaft complete.

I see you're selling a load of stuff on FB. You wouldn't happen to have the cushions that fit in the annoying gaps on either side of the back seat? Looking for a pair in grey check/rodeo.

Cheers,

Ben

Re: Steering shaft

As long as your sorted... UJ's are the same but full new shaft at keen price is always better! It is steering after all...

I do have a pair.... one in grey check but a bit tatty and one thats been recovered in another material

However i also have a  rear seat bottom that i am about to cut up for some repair pieces for someone else so could supply enough cloth also to allow you to get a trimmer to recover them

PM me if you wamt them
