Hello all...

Just had some steel wheels fitted to my 230ge 1989 "OM606" super G from Diesel Pump uk ;)

Does anyone know if there are any plastic caps available that would fit these steel bolts?

Slightly pathetic post, but not liking the chrome when I have blacked out the rest of the G .

Best

I don't know why, but those bolts don't look quite right to me. Does that bolt go through a washer? That's what it looks like.

Anyway, on the basis that you're probably not going to be taking them off and putting them back on all that often you could always spray them the same colour as the wheels??

Or maybe that's a stupid suggestion - someone will no doubt put me right.

Don't look like original MB bolts?

Steel wheels and alloy wheels have different length bolts which are not interchangeable.

I think there is a black plastic Centre cap for the steel wheel.

t looks like the bolts a rounded and do not have a hexagonal head on it in which case I suggest:

OR

The Do-Nut head covers can be in black but please do your own research for sizes.

Alternatively force on a hexagonal fitting onto you round bolt.

Thanks all for your comments!!

When I get her back ( next week hopefully) i will measure the bolts and use those helpful links!!!

I didn't fit these bolts... however I do know that I had the longer bolts for alloys wheels and these new bolts were put in to fit the steel wheels.

Re: Steel wheel caps???

Hi

They are the universal type bolts many aftermarket wheel places sell. Yes there are caps so just ask and shops as most sell them cheaply. Try bk racing wheels or as another person said playground caps. Measure the diameter of wheel stud and look at caps on ebay or whatever . There are 100s of them. The wheel bolts you have are aftermarket ones so if you dont like that look i am sure sprinter models will fit with the traditional bolt style. Go to a merc van centre and ask to try one, or ask the guru Gavin what bolts fit
