Slindon fun day
The next Fun Day at Slindon (Nr Arundel) West Sussex) is on Sunday 18th Jan. It is a fantastic site especially when it has been raining a bit!!!! Lots of help on hand if you need recovering! (If you don't need it, you'r not trying hard enough!!!)
I will definitely be going (even if back diff is not mended)
HARD HATS ARE REQUIRED TO DO BLACK RUNS (new rule). I use my cycle helmet which seems to pass scrutiny!
Rolled it last time, daughter in passenger seat laughed a lot (had horse riding hat on) Crowd ran over and pushed us back on to 'rolling bits' and we carried on. :D
For more directions and info e me.
Regard
Richard Bush (Bushy)
The small matter of the hard hat is yet another pain in the arse.... I´ll try to get hold of one in any case.
Richard, can you post details regarding directions and info? or else just confirm that details posted in my website (click on pic to see)
are still valid!
Also for pics of a previous outing see my website.
Cheerio!
I have about 6 in my workshop. I can post!!
I would like to go, that is if I get hold of a hard hat before! Bushy is coming so, is there anybody else volunteering to come? Please post your interest here!
I'm certainly going to try and make it.
Stewart Hamilton, a fellow GWOA member, tells me that the Stakis is now a Hilton ......Just to save anyone looking for the wrong hotel.
So now the directions should read:
"It's at Slindon, near Arundel, West Sussex. The Slindon Safari off-road driving centre in situated on the north side on the A27 between Arundel and Fontwell. It is nearly opposite the Hilton Hotel turning. Access is from Shellbridge Road. "
Is there a time or cost?
Is there a time or cost?
These things normally start at 10 AM, which is the time we normally meet at, and cost some £20 per car.
Puddles galore and mud in spadeloads.
This is what we found today at Slindon. Three G-Wagens turned up for the day (Bushy's the John Haynes' team and myself).
The site was extremely muddy due to the last weeks of rain. It is a shame because part of the site -the Outback- was rendered impassable by the Range Rover mafia (you know, those guys with big V8's fitted to their trucks, which still think that off-roading is about high revs and no traction, which end up digging themselves to the diffs and ruining the tracks).
Notwithstanding the above we had a fantastic day. To see the pics, click on the one below. Cheers
Hit a tree very hard after you left. Damaged L/H "A" pillar and windscreen  !!!!
Bushy:
Very sorry to hear that but you've got to tell us how you managed to do it. Which part of the track was that? Looks like your truck turned in the wrong direction?

Yes Jesus
The address is as on your site :-
"It's at Slindon, near Arundel, West Sussex. The Slindon Safari off-road driving centre in situated on the north side on the A27 between Arundel and Fontwell. It is nearly opposite the Stakis Hotel turning. Access is from Shellbridge Road. "
There are orange dayglow signs on the A 27 on the junction you turn north on.
SEe you then perhaps.
