Hi, would anyone be willing to make & send me paper templates from OEM RHD floor mats for a W463 LWB (mine is 1991) for a reasonable fee so that I can use them to get some carpet mats made? (And can anyone recommend somewhere to do this too?) I’ve been searching for second hand ones for a with with no luck...Thanks for your help!

Re: RHD w463 Lwb 1991 floor mats template

Hi Anu

I've recently bought a RHD 280 GE SWB, which was missing its front carpets.  After asking around, I was recommended to try www.classicmercedesmats.co.uk

They quoted £125 or so for 2 front mats, but needed the templates (which I didn't have).  I'm also saving up for some more pressing mechanical work on the G, so had a look around on the ebay sites recommended in previous posts for something close to the originals, but cheap for the time being.

After some searching, I found:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112560922202

I opted for the "heavy duty" grey ribbed option which got me the full set (front, rear and boot mat) for about £30.  They're a lighter grey than the original rear mat (which is the only one I had left) and the foam backing looks much less durable, but they're a properly tailored fit for the G (ignore the picture on the listing, it's just a standard photo one).  I'm just using the G for family fun days out, rather than winning any concours competition, so they're fine for the time being.  When I've some more funds, I'll treat the G to the classicmercedesmats (and can use the ebay ones as templates).

Hope that's some help!  I'm no expert (this is my first G) but I've found a lot of the postings on the forum really useful and have just joined as a member, so thought I'd reply with my own experience on the mats front, as identifying and finding parts is quite a team effort, but all part of the fun.  I've got some questions I need to post soon, about finding a replacement rear ashtray, door seals round the front door windows, plastic retaining straps for the fold down boot seats and the best place for replacement genuine Hella headlights...

All the best
