reco prop Luton

Thanks for the tip. I have phoned Baily Morris and they want a lot of money for a re con prop. MB want £1030. Baily Morris want £570 or £60 for the joint.
Have been trying to source a local (Norwich area ) machine shop that can stake the 30mm size required. Most can only do 27mm max.
Will keep this site updated.
Meanwhile i have a front wheel drive G !

second hand or not

Did consider a second hand prop but couldnt find one that wasnt silly money and of course you can buy a prop which seems ok but it rumbles when loaded.
Unless you have a good un for sale?

did you try reco prop in luton?? The UJ cost £30 and about £30 to stake it in. Call bailey morris and ask for Andy Evans tell him I put you onto him (Ian Watson) and ask him for reco props number in luton. I know they buy the merc prop for around £270-£300. Caversham garage also buys from bailey morris but charges double.

Yes I e mailed them and they quoted me £152 for a fitted joint and £111 to supply joint only and £40 odd quid for a balance.

All very different prices.

Perhaps I should call them and talk to them direct.

I paid £30 for a 30mm UJ, the most you want to pay is £45 for a UJ. then send it to them with prop. Please note that the props Bailey morris supply are brand new and not recon. They buy from the manufacturer in germany and it comes with the Merc part no and three pointed star stamped on them. I used to be school buddies with Andy at Bailey morris. I was the one that got them to buy props to supply to the club

go to news agent and buy total of road or go onbto a website called gon2far. They make prop shafts and I spoke to them some time a go to make a double cardon joint for front. See if they can make one to suit. I will try to speak to them again to see if we can get some made up with circlip uj's. Also try them for the 30mm UJ. It looks like reco prop are trying to monopolise on G's.
