Hi, all just had an mot done and they have given me an advisory on rear bump stops corroded away, however the springs and the bits the springs attach to are fine, has anyone had this before? And is it an easy fix? Thanks

Re: Rear bump stops

They are screwed into the upper spring mount, I have replaced mine. They do come into contact with the coil spring mount, on the axle( saucer shape) do yours have holes in.? They are about a tenner each but obviously need welding on. It's not hard to remove a rear spring to see what state the spring mount is in. Replacing the spring mount is not that straight forward but enough has been written about this in previous posts

No, but in Mercedes-Benz terms its called a spring assistor rather than bump stop
