Firstly thanks for the help regarding gearshift mechanism. did the job with new rubbers today in about an hr.
BUUUUUUUUUTTT!!!
Coming home form France last week it started making a very subtle chirping noise when revving hard. Now I know you gonna say "chirping???" but It sounded like a bearing whistle i initially thought alternator even though it was rebuilt 10k ago. I removed all V Belts to make sure it was not from what they were driving. Sitting still it is more subtle than underload when driving. It tends to last about 5mins from cold or when the vehicle has been sat for an hr.I havent really heard it when it has been running longer
All I can say is it comes from the front area. Any ideas?? Idler on chain? something on Fuel pump. It has stumped me so far
Thank you

New noise

Just a possibility: Had similar on my sprinter - change of multi-v belt sorted it... might be something to do with tension differences over different temperatures and vibrations/oscillations...
