New injectors OM603 advice please?

Hi everyone, I think it's time for some new injectors for my 1991 W463 300D. She's done 275k Kms on the original set and she sounds a bit embarrassing at idle. I've done some googling and I like the sound of monark nozzles. Can anyone offer any advice on suppliers or opinions on other makes, pressure to get them set at in case I want to use veg oil at some point etc? Can someone please help with the correct part number as there seems to be 2 options. I would also be grateful if someone could confirm my engine model please? I know it's an OM603 but, I was asked what variant it was. Thanks Mud

I would have thought the standard injectors meant for your engine would suffice for vegetable oil running - not heard of anyone setting these up for vegi fuel.

Engine generally employed in G-Wagens' are of lower compression if that is what you mean by variant. The engine number can decipher that. At a wild guess I think your engine code is either OM603.944 or OM603.928 or something like that.

Before changing your nozzles my suggestion would be to have these decarbonised to obtain a good spray pattern; I recommend the use of diesel injector cleaner as frequent use in diesel fuel as an additive.

What sounds are at idle? Sure just not leaky combustion chamber? Any excess smoke? Sure  injector specialist will take money off you, but as Rakesh suggests maybe try a dose of Forte through it 1st.

I have as set of low miles injectors if you need any. 13,50 each

For veg oil different nozzles for spray pattern help but standard ones work with no noticable difference


Mine had done from 70k to 150 k with no issues
