New G Owner needs help
Ok, I am the proud new owner of a 1990 250 GD ex German military "Wolf" (WDB46140117067583). It has 80,0000 km and seems to be in very good shape. However, I have never owned a diesel or a 4 wheel drive vehicle anything like this. Can anyone recommend any service or maintenance manuals specific to my vehicle? I need to learn the very basics.....how often to change the oil, what type of oil, what filters need to be changes, what needs to be greased, what to look out for or worry about, etc. Any help would be very much appreciated!
I think that vehicle's motor featured in the line up of w123 cars or treat it as 4/5 of the om617 engine that featured in the gd300 and service accordingly. I'm sure Haynes manuals for the w123 cars are still available 2nd hand if not new, pack the swivel hubs with grease, ditto the drive shaft using the grease nipples. If you check out the G-wizz magazines accessible on this website you will find directions on how to use the low ratio box amongst them. You have many hours of fun ahead of you
