Need a oil cooler. Wheres the best price?
Having emerged from the shed and a 606/mini resto I've got the lump in, intercooler and it sounds sweet. I've sprung a small leak (perhaps was always there) from the wing mounted oil cooler. My car is a a G350 with the oil cooler behind the headlight. It's the same design as a G300TD factory fitted with the 606 engine. Did the G300 n/a 603 have the same cooler? How much are they and how do I remove it?

The 603 has the oil cooler integrated into the radiator. I'm sure you will be able to find a new separate replacement one from somewhere like Tweaks in Wrexham.
Do away with the external oil cooler and use an integral oil filter/oil cooler of a 605 engine from a C250 much neater, does away with all the pipework and fits straight on your 606 engine

I like that. Way neater than the 603 set-up that I have with the oil cooler combined with the water rad.
Wonder how that compares in dropping the oil temp compared to a hefty one mounted up front?
Funnily enough I'm on the search this week for a cooler for my 606 conversion. Scouting some of the LR sites looking for an ex V8 one that someone's not used in a conversion.
I don't think it will fit if you have cruise control. Does it bolt to the block 1st with filter on last?
Bolts to the filter housing then has push fit adapters into the head and block.
Update. Had the old in the wing wing oil cooler pressure tested and small leak repaired. Looks great, also restored the mounting bracket. I pig to remove but worth it. I recommend the services of wrexham radiators. Real good. Ask for Ian

Fits straight on! Now he tells me. Gordon I'll try to find the original as I've buggered about with the pipes etc and theyre all in now but that sounds like a good fix. Russ Cheers. Nudge....wheel arches mate.
