After a long wait I took delivery of my new Unimog and Hi-tip trailer. It's a bit more sophisticated than the old 435 so lots of new buttons and controls to get used to. First job was to drive it to the local village to get some bacon rolls smiley

Re: My New Unimog Arrived Today

That's awesome.

Just the size of Unimog I would like (but don't actually need).  Please share some details of the spec - engine, HP, mpg, etc.

And some pics of the cabin in due course.

Ed: Actually I found this:  https://mbs.mercedes-benz.com/en/unimog.html

Is yours brand new?

Re: My New Unimog Arrived Today

lol. I've just spent an hour researching Unimog.  Difficult to nail down an actual model. I also never realised just how meaty these vehicles are.  5L and 7L engines, pneumatic brakes etc. They seem to have a jumpseat arrangement for a 3rd person (2nd is called a co-driver!).  No pricing anywhere, but I've signed up for the email newsletter.

That looks like a beaut. I'd love to see some more photos when you have a moment. They are a vehicle that really fascinate me.

Re: My New Unimog Arrived Today

It's an ex-German council U400 implement carrier. I bought it through Atkinsison Vos the Unimog specialists and had it fully refurbished and some extras fitted.

It was a lot cheaper than a new U430 of similar spec at £185,000 and even the cheapest used U430 was £118,000. The only alternatives for my needs  were a JCB Fastrac or a large tractor, neither of which was going to put a smile on my face.

The refurb consisted of a full respray of the cab inside and out plus shotblasting and painting the chassis. The brakes and hydraulics were overhauled including new pipes and hoses and the engine was given a full service with all belts filters and fluids replaced. The Unimog comes with a 3 year warranty for parts and labour.

I had the following new items fitted:

24" wheels and 445/70 tyres.

Powered pickup hitch with clevis, Dromone ball and hook hitches.

Three way tipping bed.

Six additional hydraulic spool valves.

Four channel camera system and touch screen.

It has an uprated 6.4 litre six cylinder turbo diesel engine with 268bhp and produces 1000nm of torque and weighs 7200kg.

I added a few more photos.
