Mid section exhaust mounting ?
Applogies if it in the wrong section, but not really sure where to put it,
My 1993 swb W463 (petrol) has decided to break its exhaust and snapped the pipe connecting to the mid section. No big deal as mid section and the end box where both looking more than a little rough. Cat looks ok but ordered a new one as well.
I've order a replacment (not got it yet) but I cant work out where the mid section mounts to the body (if it actually does).
Can anyone confirm if the mid section does actually mount to the body or it just suspended in the air via the exhaust brackets from the cat and the back box ?

On my diesel the middle silencer is just suspended between the two main exhaust sections, two rings each side will need replacing as well, fit stainless bolts to hold sections together, makes it much easier should you want to replace sections in the future
Yes my replacement section also had those , unsure why? Don't think they necessary, tho you might have to weld ,so not worth the aggro

Thanks for the reply, mine was just suspended in the air (until it broke), just looked a little odd. But its V light.
Weird thing is the replacment middle box and end box arrived today and middle section has 4 points where it could be hung from.

Will leave it to the garage to decide if make some custom mounts or not for it
