OK another great day out around Devon and Cornwall. We covered over 100 miles with many lanes driven. Would have done more but we spent a lot of time putting springs back into the Red Disco!

Re: Local lanes

Hi Grendle

Great Site, Great Club, Great Photos and a cracking day out...

I loved the picture 5th of the way down, with the 18" diameter tree across the track at roof height, just loped off and left with enough room to just squeeze thru, made me chuckle....

I really must come for a run down at some point and ride shotgun or should that be chainsaw?

Donny boys ride out.....

All the best

Gav

Don't talk to me about trees across tracks at roof height. I still have the dent to show for it.

Re: Local lanes

Great photos Grendale,

I have some questions as a result of looking at your photos'.

Firstly, hoping the white W460 is yours; I notice you have alloys fitted but running without an wheel arch extension or flares.

  1. Is your vehicle truly and distinctively legal or boarder line regarding tyres in line of wheel arch line?
  2. May I please ask what your rim size is and if possible, the part number of your alloy?
  3. Finally, may I have your permission to use one or two clips of your G-Wagen photos' in reply to an enquiry I currently have?
  4. Are you having to use any wheel spacers? If so, what size?

Looking forward to your reply and Thanking you in advance.

Probably borderline legal, but more due to tyre size than wheel rims. Shouldn't be a problem though. Cops only tend to look at this sort of thing if you've got a rice rocket and driving like a tw*t.

Alloys look like 4604010102's (5.5x16) which fit 460's without any need for mods or spacers.

Re: Local lanes

Sorry haven't logged on for a while.

The alloys are standard on the 460, no mods or spaces. Tyre size 235 x 16. Sahara Turbo 2's

I think they are legal, they have been on 7 years and passed MOT each time. Might be the rubbing strakes count. Couldn't use a G with arches as the local lanes would destroy them in a couple of miles. The tyres and strakes really protect the body from damage.

Cheers
