I must admit one thing, as I get ready for work everyday I look out the window and it gives me pleasure seeing a g wagon outside, taken him abroad a few times, up and down the country etc just love watching others point at it saying whatever they do. Some give the thumbs up, some try to race it !  Good feeling all round, their is a certain face the 4x4 has...not grumpy but maybe a little serious saying look at me I'm steel baby!  Don't know what I'm writing about just thought I'd share a moment with another fellow g wagon member.....

Share your thoughts guys/girls on your ride, I know it's probably been done again and again, but fresh thoughts are nice to hear.

Hi Gordan, possibly. I might be buying a LHD G500 this week as well. Keeping two G's is a little greedy or not??

Tell me about how you feel about your G. Gordan, share the thoughts my man.

Ditto Gooch. Well said.

Every day, it's like I'm admiring it for the first time. A sight I'll never get bored of - even whilst waiting for the AA to help get it started on a cold morning. Even broken down, it looks and feels badass and still owns the road.

Great post!

It's good to know that I'm not as sick as I thought I was with my new G. Constantly finding reasons to walk outside to take a fresh look at it. The guys here on base are already calling it 'The Beast', so that's what it'll be called unless I need to tone it down a bit and call it 'Hank' before shifting into Beast Mode. ;-)

i didn't like the wheels first but then got used to it, I might put the gv12 grille with no merc star  possibly, it's the one for sale on the parts for sale page. It has the rear bumper in brabus, had the rear brabus roof spoiler but this was ott to be honest.

cheers

Yes, he pestered and pestered me to sell it to him. He always wanted it since the day I got it, haha.

I'm sure Howard will put some pics up, it's looking good. I drove it a few weeks ago, driving lovely.

Re: I love my G-wagon......what about you lot?

Hate my G, have done ever since I got it, I mean, who likes the soft supple leather, the aircon, the flashy blue lit sills that welcome you in to the 'Box on wheels'? Its big and 'in your face', which does not sit well with my quiet, discreet manner. And the wood and luxury carpet? what the heck is that about? eh?

Please don't get me started on the heavy, V8 engine that drinks petrol like a thirsty docker, the loutish noise that emits from the tail pipe, the fact that it is so smooth you can balance a £1 coin on the block - big wup!, but my real issues here is the obscene power available - enough to hurl you down the road and get caught by the police at over a 3 digit number! And why is it so high off the road? I have to stretch to climb up the bloody thing! They should give you a ladder it's so high!

Then we get to the three locking diffs and H/L range box! Just what is all that about? So what, I can lock all three diffs? So what, I can go where other off roaders can only dream of? So what, that when it snows I am one of the very few vehicles that can get about? Please, I ask you - do we really need all that gubbins in one vehicle? And please - why do I need more rubber on it than a condom factory, eh? If I want to go wading through a large puddle, I may enjoy the fact it leaks like a colander and is not sealed like a U-Boat! and as for the total impractical 'drain plugs' had - waste of space as I have never used them before!

And as for the 9 seater capacity - just great, I am forever 'chosen' to be the bloody school pick up and TFL can stuff their ' here have exemption from the congestion charge'. I hate looking at it, standing there in the road, all 'high and mighty', screaming out to people who pass it - ' Yeah mate, look but do not consider touching!'. I hate it when children pull out their cameras and take photos of it and what really does hack me off is that you can see down cleavage of women in convertibles during the summer, or when they demurely smile at you for stopping at a cross roads - that height issue again.... Do they ever stop to think that for the next 30 mins your wife is going to give you the cold shoulder and the I-am-not-impressed look every time you have to check left? And what's with the big HD Widescreen windscreen, just what's that about?

And finally - who gave it bloody 'Icon Status'? eh? ........'Oh lets just not change the basic design for almost 40 years' and hey presto we can put what ever price we want on it and sell it!

So before the pedants come on and say 'Why did you get a G?' .......easy, still better than a Range Rover.
