You can blame Adrian Warner; after years of procrastination I finally got here. Thanks for the link Ade. :D

My name is Mike Hallett and I am the production inspector and test driver for ATL, former UK importer of Puch G and now sole manufacturer of Steyr Puch's other "baby", the incomparable Pinzgauer, in both 4x4 and 6x6 formats.

After running four or five Puch G's as company cars over the years, I finally succumbed and bought my own, a white (somebody has to have them :( ) 1992 300GDL auto, albeit displaying the Mercedes "star". It's absolutely gorgeous, of course!

It came on alloys shod with puny 205R16 radials; totally under-tyred. But, it now sports a set of 235/85R16 BFGoodrich Mud Terrains and is fitted with a manufacturer's original equipment heavy duty roof rack with chequer-plate floor and access ladder. It seems to cope okay and looks the business.

Anyway, sorry to bang on.....I'm starting to dribble  so I'll leave it for now. Looking forward to becoming a little more involved. Good to meet you, though I have met some of you already during the gathering at "Frontier Trails", Cholderton, Wilts, several years ago.

MIke:

Good to see you around here. I guess that you are based in Guildford right now. In fact I think I saw you the other day driving a LWB Puch 461 G290 GDT with ATL on the sides. I wonder if there is any chance of having a tour of the ATL factory. Don't feel obliged, just tell us to get stuffed if need be. Cheers
