Hi everyone

My wife and I are from South Africa, but have been living in London for more than a year now. What started off as a joke has turned into a serious obsession: we are planning to do an overland trip back to SA at the end of next year. After considerable research we came to the conclusion that the best vehicle for the job (only vehicle worth considering) would be a G. Subsequently we bought an '84 300GD LWB over the weekend. I've only had it for 3 days now, but boy am I impressed.

The truck (only way of describing it) will need some attention, mostly cosmetic though (seems to be the expensive bit). Looking forward to sharing in the wealth of experience in this forum.

Cheers

Hello!!
hope your cosmetic isnt too bad, my G ('86 280GEL) has been on the operating table for the past few months and I thought it would only need a respray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very Rusty round the tail lights and chesk your upper Fuel Tank for leaks ( The small one at the filler) mine was like a collinder! sills were pretty bad too!!!
And YES, it can get expensive!

Good luck!!!
