I am a retired metal Fab owner.
I bought my 2002 G500 two months ago.
I have followed the Mbenz forum for some time now. I am listed there as GwagenLover as in this forum.

I have owned Mbenz since 1972. I prefer diesels. My favorite Mbenz diesel has been and still is my 87 300D Turbo sedan. 77k original miles on it. The way I am loving the G, I'll have that many miles on it before long.
I have owned a few diesels, Mbenz, Perkins, Kubota, Case, Cummins, International & Detroit. My favorite for simplicity and performance was the Cummins.

If you would like to see where I live, click on the website listed. Click "Old Salem" on the left. Then scroll down and click the picture beside "Brief History" Thats us on the left, the brick one with the dormer just past the red house...206 years old, circ 1797
You will hear from me on occasion, Thanks for being here!

Hey Guys!

Thanks for coming aboard GwagenLover.

I never realised that there were two Salems. So no witches huh? But where do the cigarettes come from?

Lovely house. You must be especially enjoying it now in the fall. I'm sure you must have some awesome colour changes.

Well hope you enjoy our forums.

Re: Two Salems

This Salem was a very strict German religous settlement for The Moravians. The church controled everything. Salem College is here. Woe is me! Having to put up with over 1800 girls. LOL! A lot are from foreign countries.

We have over 600,000 visitors a year.

I have seen people taking video pictures of my G that is parked off street in the back lot.
The Gwagens are not common in WS, I think only one black one and 2 silver ones.

Come see us guys, I'll take you for a spin.

Funny thing. I only know two places in the USA. One is the Miami International Airport where I got stranded for 20 hours ten years ago travelling from Bogota to Madrid. The other is Wilson, NC, where the head office of my employer is based and where I typically get stranded for a few days for a strategy meeting every December.

Lately we're having the meeting in Raleigh. Is that far away from your place?

Answer to Mortison and Maxwell...

Mortison,
Raleigh is two hours east of Winston Salem, and is an easy drive on I-85 and I-40.
Drop by. Email me for further Info.

Maxwell,
The Salem cigarettes come from RJR Tobacco that was located in The Winston part of Winston Salem. They have moved the plant to Tobaccoville, NC. They no longer give tours. You would have enjoyed watching cigarettes made at 8000/min.
