Thinking of replacing the original exhaust for a stainless steel one. If I were to replace the cat for another silencer instead , would this affect my chances of passing the MOT on emissions ??

I noted in the engine compartment a switch which regulates the type of petrol to be used for catalytic and none catalytic settings.

Be interested to hear words of wisdom from those that know - but I thought that "switch" was actually for low vs high octane unleaded fuel.

If that is the case, what octane rating would necessitate using the LOW setting?

if your truck was built before July 31st 1992 then a cat is optional, my truck is K Plate but was built in October 1991, you might need a letter from Merc to confirm the build date, they charged me £25
